SMK Electronics Joins Z-Wave Alliance

CHULA VISTA, CA, February 13, 2006 - SMK Electronics Corporation, a division of SMK Corporation, announced today that it has joined the Z-Wave Alliance, a consortium of leading companies in the home technology space dedicated to solidifying Z-Wave as the standard for wireless home control products.

SMK, the world’s largest OEM supplier of remote controls, joins more than 125 leading companies, including Intermatic, Monster and Logitech, that have joined the Z-Wave Alliance.

In addition to acting as a supplier of Z-Wave enabled remote controls, SMK will work as a manufacturing and design partner with Z-Wave Alliance members to cost effectively bring Z-Wave-enabled products to market.

According to SMK’s President, Paul Evans, "SMK’s membership in the Z-Wave Alliance will assist in creating interoperability among all Z-Wave-enabled systems and devices, giving consumers the ability to create a Z-Wave-enabled environment easily and cost effectively."
